Pu er aka Simao

On the way from Xishuangbanna to Ken's house we passed through Simao where a friend of Ken's demanded that we stay there for at least one day before we could continue...

On the left is Mark the friend of Ken's who delayed our travel with me on the right. Mark is an English major like Ken and they both come from the same county and thus were classmates in High School.

Heres the rest of the gang that we met up with in Simao the students who couldn't go home for Spring Festival until the last minute because they all had to work to pay for School. All the way to the right is a person from Kunming and on the left is Mark and two other friends I can't recall there names or where they are from...

Here is a huge statue of Confucius in Simao positioned right in the center of a traffic circle downtown.

With not much to do now that we were delayed in Simao we all went to the park together to play!

This guy was crazy he climbed up this had to of been over a hundred year old pagoda...

Here is the view of Simao from the park with the famous Puer tea bushes on the outskirts. Pu Er Tea is renowned throughout China!

Well Pu Er seemed at first to be somewhat of a inconvenient bus stop but turned out to be a great time to get to make some friends in Simao! We spent two nights in there before catching another bus to the central town of our destination...
